I’ve been working with shells – photographing and morphing the images into mandalas for a Pirate Show at the artist co-op I love them. What fascinating and wonderful bits of creation shells are, with those stunning shapes and warm, earthy tones.
I wish I knew more about where the particular shells came from. My brother discovered them on the shelves among my late dad’s rock collection and was able to produce them just when I needed them. Which is a good story itself perhaps.
I thought of calling this mandala ‘shells on a shell’ because really, that’s what it is. Be sure to click on the detail image below to see how intricate those barnacles are.
